Professor Vasyl’ Maxymovych Moroz
He was born on February 2, 1942 in a family of collective farmers (the village of Lake Nemyriv district, Vinnytsia region), in 1967 he graduated from the Vinnytsia medical institute with a specialty doctor. From 1967 to 1968 he was a therapist at the Shpykiv Regional Hospital of Vinnytsia Region. Further activity V.M. Frost associated with Vinnitsa Medical University: assistant of the Department of Normal Physiology (1968-1969), graduate student of the same department (1969-1972), assistant (1972-1976), assistant professor (1976-1984), professor (1984-1991), Head of the Department from 1991 to 2015.
Appointed Academic Secretary of the University Council (1975-1982), Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine (1982-1984), Dean of the Pediatric Faculty (1984-1986), Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs (1986-1988).
Since 1988 – Rector of Vinnitsa Medical Institute, and since 1994 – Rector of Vinnitsa National Medical University. MI Pirogov.
Scientific achievements VM Frost: 1972 – received the degree of Candidate of Sciences; 1976 – awarded the academic title – Assistant Professor; 1983 – defended his doctoral dissertation and in 1986 approved by a professor.
Since 1991 – Member of the International Society for the Study of the Brain (IVRO); In 1993 he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Scientist and Technician of Ukraine”; in 1994 – elected President of the International Academy of Integrative Anthropology; field of physiology, and since 2010 – academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
Author of more than 400 scientific works, including 32 monographs and teaching aids, 35 inventions. Scientific research VM Frost refers to studies of the role of brain structures in the formation of central mechanisms of programming and control of arbitrary motions; problems of adaptation, health of the population of Ukraine, etc. V.M. Frost is the author of the creation of the virtual patient system SKIF – computer model of human life (2013) Under the leadership of V.M. Frost has trained 27 doctors and candidates of medical sciences. With his assistance and active support over the past 5 years, 49 doctoral dissertations and more than 400 PhD theses have been defended by the staff of VNMU. V.M. Frost is the editor of the journals “Visnyk of Vinnytsia Medical University”, “Pain Medicine. Pain Medicine”, member of the editorial board of the journal “Morphology Journal”, “Medical Education”, “Experimental and Clinical Physiology and Biochemistry”, “Problems of Medical Science and Education”, ” Archives of Experimental and Clinical Medicine “,” Biomedical and Biosocial Anthropology “.
He is the chairman of the Association of Rectors of Higher Medical Educational Institutions of Ukraine, a member of the Board and the Presidium of the Academic Council of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. He took an active part in the development of measures for reforming higher medical education in Ukraine, social protection of higher education staff and students.
On the initiative of V.M. Frost University has established active cooperation with medical faculties of 19 foreign countries, clinical departments with 28 foreign pharmaceutical companies have close links, and the University receives grants from the Sparkman and Fogerty Foundation (USA).
Under the leadership of VM Moroz, Vinnitsa Medical Institute acquired the status of a university and the status of a national higher medical educational institution.
Merits VM Frost is highly appreciated by the leadership of the state. For the achievements in the development of VNMU, the contribution to the training of highly qualified medical and pharmaceutical personnel in Ukraine, the organization of research on the health problems of its population that are relevant to Ukraine, V.М. Frost awarded: Honors President of Ukraine – the Order “For Merit” III degree (1993), the Order of Yaroslav the Wise V degree (2002), Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2003).
August 24, 2003 Decree of President of Ukraine .Moroz is awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
